What was your specific profile or project topic during the internship? Like what exactly did you work upon during your internship?

I worked on adding some thread enhancements/debugging features to a small light weight OS.

What specific domain or field did you target to get an internship in?

Embedded Software

Were there any other companies where you applied for role in similar profile where you did not get the same opportunity?

No

What resources did you utilize to prepare for the tests/interviews?

I prepared basic DSA (hashmaps, linked lists etc). I practiced questions from leetcode. I also read up embedded systems, implementing questions in C.

Can you elaborate on your interview and the type of questions which were asked in the test and interview?

For my interview, there were two questions in two rounds, each round lasting 45 mins.

  1. The first question: There was a beaded necklace having arbitrary number of red and green beads. I had to divide them in two equal heaps. The question was based on sliding window approach.

  2. The second question was based on hashmap implementation and bit wise operations. The question was long and took time to understand.

Could you provide insights into the organizational culture of the company/university and what your peers were like?

The team was very inclusive and friendly. Asking questions and talking to peers in case of difficulties was encouraged. There was a sense of team bonding.

Were there any networking opportunities or professional connections that you established during the internship?

Yes, I managed to chat with a few seniors in the embedded systems field and asked about their journey and suggestions.

How keen is the company on hiring interns as full-time employees in the future? How ready are they regarding PPOs?

I am returning as an intern next year, so I’m not much aware about this.

How would you describe your overall experience as an intern? Did you explore anything new, or was it just a good-pay good-work desk-job?

No, I learned a lot about threads and kernels among OS. Technical part aside, it was a good introduction to corporate workflow and review process. I also enjoyed brainstorming and exploring POC for different ideas.

Would you recommend this internship opportunity to your juniors? Anything additional (tips regarding preparation, insight about the company anything) you would like to mention/point out?

Yes, I would definitely recommend this internship opportunity to my juniors.
