For my role, I had a plenty of relevant projects and a similar internship, so just brushed through my resume and concepts related to what was mentioned on my resume

Tests and Interviews

For this role, there weren’t any tests. In the interviews, I was asked mainly about my previous internship work and some general DSA and aptitude questions.

Handling Rejections

The pressure of securing one was not quite high this time, so was quite chilled out during the application process and that probably helped doing well in the interviews.

Organizational Culture

The culture was super amazing at Microsoft. The entire team was quite welcoming and always eager to help. My mentor and co-mentors took great interest in my project and paid the necessary attention to drive the project. I was assigned the task of working on a feature and testing it end-to-end. It was quite organized and ended up quite well. There were many activities other than work planned for the interns by the company as well as the particular team. Overall, they were quite inclusive and gave me a great experience in terms of work and social engagement or networking.

Networking

There were quite a few activities organized for networking. There were hackathons exclusively for interns, All-Hands session where we got an overview of our entire team, and many fun, social events to break the ice and get us talking to our team employees freely.

Overall Experience

I had a really fantastic time working at Microsoft. The insightful interactions I got to have with the fellow-employees, the kind of project that I got to work on, the overall enthusiasm of the team and the company perks and a beautiful campus, all summed up to be an amazing and fruitful internship

For someone looking for a data science role and excited to work on features actually deployed in production, I think this will be a great opportunity. It will not be a research-oriented role. Apart from that, the work experience will differ from team to team, however, the overall experience is going to be quite enriching and worthwhile.
