How I Got This Internship
Cold mailing people Sent over 1000 mails (automated mailing) to different companies Applied in December, got reply in mid January followed by tests and interviews and selection within a week
Preparation Resources
Leetcode, Youtube (try to find short animated videos if possible). For interviews prepare your projects in the resume well the theoretical knowledge is more important than implementation. Ask chatGPT for standard interview question/answers for your role
Tests and Interviews
First was a test of electrical core (for some reason), followed by a ~40min technical interview on basics of ML, CNNs and the resume projects and a bit of pandas programming. Final 15min HR round with standard question like “Why do you want to join Siemens?” etc.
Handling Rejections
:,-) Not much you can do, such is life just keep applying eventually you will find some company It might feel that you are behind everyone but trust me you are still ahead of 90% of the population outside IIT, even in NITs majority people never get an intern.
Work / Project
Developing metrics for evaluation of multi-agentic system
Organizational Culture
The work environment was pretty chill, really good work life balance. No strict working hours or weekly updates and you could work from home as well just keep your manager updated about your work.
Networking
They hosted some internal hackathon and showcase of projects, where you could interact with different teams about their work
Overall Experience
Really good, the project was relevant and SOTA , the work environment was good no pressure or anything. But one huge problem was that they weren’t hiring full time so no scope for PPO.
Would You Recommend?
The intern experience was great and the project was relevant, so Siemens is a good option if you are looking for experience.
But they rarely convert to fulltime roles (might change in future), I am not sure of the growth aspects of the company either, I couldn’t find any alums there which is a bit of a red flag
