Course Content:

  1. Shannons theory
  2. Haffman coding, prefix codes, krafts inequality
  3. Typical sets, source encoding theorem
  4. Shannon’s Channel capacity theorem
  5. Channel capacity, error correction
  6. Gaussian channels, Multiple access channels

Prerequisites:

EE 325 Probability and random process is the basic advisable pre-requisite for this course.

Lectures were very interesting all case were explained using examples, helping in understanding the topic.

Homeworks and Assignments:

Assignments and tutorials contain high level stuff when compared to classes. Need to read bit more and require high level understanding to solve the problems.

Attendence Policy:

80% attendance is strictly followed. DX grades will be awarded if not attended
