Course Content

Pre-midSem is mostly cryptography. Topics include symmetric and asymmetric key cryptography, hashes, MACs and cryptographic protocols. Post-midsem portion covers network security (attacks and prevention at different layers of the OSI model - ARP spoofing, Smurf attack, TCP session hijacking, DNS Pharming etc), and web security.

4 quizzes (best 3 were considered), 1 midsem, 1 endsem. The course had an accompanying lab component (4 optional labs spread throughout the semester) and oe final compulsory lab endsem. Evaluation was fair.
